His Ways Are Perfect

Sky-Lisa-edit

At one time in my life, I thought I knew what was best for me. You couldn’t tell me otherwise when it came to the plans I thought the Lord had for me. I had it all planned out, each step of the way, but when things didn’t go as planned it upset me. I thought for sure I knew what plans should have unfolded. Thankfully, through the years I have been able to look back and see just what God was doing all along.

God’s ways are perfect. He can’t make a mistake even if He tried to. What He wills is perfect and the plans He has for us are perfect. He has a reason for each plan that takes place. We may never know why some plans unfold, but we can know God knows why things are happening. Ultimately, it’s supposed to be drawing us into a closer relationship with Him. We can trust His way and His plans for our lives.

We can take comfort and be assured through His Word that God knows what He’s doing. His Word has been tried and it’s solid. It is true. It is perfect. When we know His Word, we can use it as a buffer for the lies of the enemy. We can rely on His Word to give us truths for life and guidance for our future. His Word gives us peace when our plans don’t go how we thought they would. It can also be our comfort when we’re in dismay because our plans have failed.

When we trust God with our lives, we can rest in peace knowing the plans will be perfect. We may worry at times, but we should come to His Word and encourage ourselves. God is working things out just how He desires and just how they need to go. Many times they may be plans that we don’t want or think they aren’t the right plans. Think of Abraham, Joseph, and even Job. They had a lot of trials and walked by faith in their lives. We can see their situations did work out for the best. They are a perfect example by which we can be encouraged.

We can look back many times and see how God was working all along. That’s what really strengthens my trust in God, looking back to see His faithfulness. I can look at my plans ten years ago and see now what God was doing with my life. Looking back at some of my plans, I can see they weren’t best for me. The verse in Isaiah 55:8-9 can bring us comfort: “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.” We know this is true if we look throughout the Bible. He’s always faithful and always just. We don’t have to fret over our plans and our lives if we put them in God’s hands. He will never fail us.

Lord, thank You that Your ways are perfect. Thank You for being perfect. May I trust in You and Your ways. When disappointment comes, may I encourage myself with Your Word. When I’m distraught over broken plans, may I trust in Your hand. You want only good for me and I must trust You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Amen to that Heather. Looking back on my life, I know that I can trust God leading me. My plans are not always the best, so I try to listen to His leading in all aspects of my life.

I make my plans then watch Him totally change them up! However, like you said, His ways are perfect and the end results are always better than what I’d originally planned.
