STEP INTO SIMPLICITY

Today, we give SUNFLOWER FAITH a warm welcome to LACED WITH GRACE as our guest writer. Be sure to visit her website!

Eyes closed.
Warmth of the sun.
Sounds of laughter.
Listening to the music of the birds.
Simplicity of life.

Reading the words of Proverbs 1:4 (NKJV), I pondered these verses “To give prudence to the simple, To the young man knowledge and discretion—”, there are some things in life that aren’t complicated, we can make it complicated….but it doesn’t have to be.

Close the eyes, breathe in the fresh air, just open His word, allow His word to speak. Everything is there. Sometimes, everything we need to know is just there, but seeking for that perfect moment, digging for that perfect moment, sometimes, that perfect moment can be happening right there, right in front of us, without us fully realizing it.

It can be as simple as taking a step back, re-evaluating and remembering, what’s really the important things in life. That’s the beauty of camping. Its the reminder, when we step outside our homes, leave behind the amazing technology that the modern world has created, and step into God’s creation, that He created, that time seems to just stand still, and we’re reminded, when it comes down to it, how complex and simple and yet beautiful, the world is all around us.

It’s hard to remember that sometimes, when we’re caught up in schedules, and t.v.s and the news and a world that keeps changing, it seems, each day, but outside all of that, His world, keeps going on perfect clockwork.

The seasons comes and goes, the birds migrate and through it all, when we aren’t running on self created schedules, just life itself and the preciousness of life.

“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” (Matthew 6:25-34)

There are times when it is worth just cutting back to the simple things in life; Be it by taking time to go on a camping vacation , or just scaling back our schedules and priorities and really look at what He has blessed us with and just remembering, that in the end, God is good and look at what He can do and created. This isn’t to say it’s perfect or a cure for all, but it’s a step toward simplifying, taking a breathe, enjoying and remembering His blessings. Same with His word; Okay do the bible study, listen to the sermons, but sometimes, just sometimes, just simply open up His word, read, take in, and simply…just simply….enjoy.

God bless you Gentle Readers!
