A Trip Down Memory Lane

Do you ever spontaneously take a trip down memory lane?

This evening I was lying on the couch in a bit of pain.  To distract myself I read some old posts on my teen girl blog. I was hoping I’d find one to share today since I didn’t think I’d be able to write a new one.  I found myself laughing at some that were inspired by young ladies I’ve mentored over the years. On a whim, I sent some of the links to a few of them that I’m in a group chat with.  What followed was an hour- long trip down memory lane. We laughed, talked and reminisced about the times we shared together and the memories that we still hold dear.

Somehow during our impromptu chat, they helped me answer some questions they didn’t even know I was asking, like why am I still so passionate about ministry to young ladies? Or, in a sea of so many other voices is there even a place for mine? Our discussion reminded me that even when you don’t feel as if you’re making a difference to keep going.  You may not see the benefits right away but it doesn’t mean your contribution doesn’t matter.  It No matter how many voices there are, there is still a place for you!

Finally, my trip down memory lane was very productive because it took my mind off my pain enough for me to write this post.

What have your trips down memory lane been teaching you?

Sounds like it was perfect timing! Sometimes when we look back we can be reminded of where we are going! Pray you have a painfree weekend!

I love this Bernadine. I am so glad that you connected with ‘your’ girls.

I totally understand what you are talking about. In the sea of voices, does mine matter? YES, yours, mine, everyone’s voice matters. You might never know who you reach, but God does.

What a great message not only to the young ladies but to all of us; men, women and all writers too because we tend to think “every book has been written” but if God calls us, then we must offer our voice. Blessings and hugs, Bernadine!
