Boy, Are You Gonna Be In Time-Out!

4 Nov

hedied.jpg(Galatians 2:21) “I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!”

I am so frustrated. I can’t do anything right. I give up. I don’t know why God even bothers with me anymore.Do you ever feel this way? I have felt this way all week.

I was sharing with my friend, Brian some time ago about how discouraged I was over some issues in my life and how I didn’t feel like I was living up to God’s expectations. He then said to me, “What!! A Christian who fails? Say it ain’t so; you should be reported to the Highest Authority; you wait until I tell Peter and Moses, boy are you gonna be in “Time-out.”

I had to laugh. He was right. And praise God for those men and women of the Bible that had true hearts for God, that they were just like me (or I like them) that we all carry human tendencies and fall short of glory. But God honored their passion not perfection.

Daily, I have to remind myself that I cannot do this on my own and that I do need Jesus after all; otherwise, as in Galations, Christ would have died for nothing.

And as another one of my friends, Bruce says, “It’s not perfection, it’s direction” that really matters.

Another amen! I often think how thankful I am that most of the people lives God chose to share with us on the pages of scripture had their share of bad times. He knows and understands and is always working to make us more like Jesus.

I like the part about how God honored there passion not perfection. I have so felt like I was in a fish bowl this past week. And on top of that I was not even a fish so I felt a little like I could not breath. :)
Looking for better things this week. Wanting the return of the joy of His salvation.

I have to agree w/the other comments—and my favorite “But God honored their passion not perfection”—how I want the Father to see me having much passion for Him! This post was indeed a blessing to me! This is one I will have to print and share!
