His Love Letter

It is that special time of year when we focus our attention on love.  In one source I found this definition of love:  “a profoundly tender, passionate affection for another person”.  I think that describes very well the feeling we have for the beloved one who holds our heart, and on Valentine’s Day we want to express that love in a tangible way.

In church this past weekend we sang “At The Cross”  (Darlene  Zschech/Reuben Morgan) – a beautiful song that speaks of the love that compelled Jesus to go to the cross.  One line that touched my heart deeply said, “I know you love me.”

Do we, in our heart of hearts, know just how much He loves us?  He has told us in His love letter to us:

– “…you are precious to Me.  You are honored and I love you.”  Isaiah 43:6

– “See, I have written your name on the palms of My hands…”  Isaiah 49:16

– “How precious are Your thoughts about me , O God.  They cannot be numbered!  I can’t even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand!”  Psalm 139:17

– “You saw me before I was born.  Every day of my life was recorded in Your book.”  Psalm 139:16

– “I have loved you…with an everlasting love.  With unfailing love I have drawn you to Myself.”  Jeremiah 31:3

-“You are altogether beautiful, my darling, beautiful in every way.”  Song of Songs 4:7

– “God showed how much He loved us by sending His one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through Him. This is real love – not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.”  I John 4: 9,10

-“And the very hairs on your head are all numbered.”  Matthew 10:30

-“And I am convinced that nothing can separate us from God’s love.  Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow – not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love.  No power in the sky above or in the earth below – indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.”   Romans 8: 38,39

-“See how very much the Father loves us, for He call us His children, and that is what we are!…”  I John 3:1

– For the Lord your God is living among you.  He is a mighty Savior.  He will take delight in you with gladness.  With His love, He will calm all your fears.  He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.”  Zephaniah 3:17

We have a Father who loves us with a perfect love.  He loved us while we were still sinners in need of a Savior.  His great heart of love beats out a love song to His children – a song that will be sung for all eternity.

Blessings,

Linda

What beautiful Scripture passages reminding us of the perfect love. We may be disappointed by people, but His love never disappoints; it is unconditional.

Thank you for sharing your wisdom with us.
