Where’s Your Focus?

Where’s your focus?

As Christians, we live in this world.  But this isn’t our permanent home.  During this life on earth, there will be times of trials and hardships.  Why are we so surprised when they happen?

I think it can be easy to get so caught up in this world.  Walking by sight is so much easier.  We see it; we believe it.

But that’s not what faith is all about.  When we walk by faith, we don’t get to see the whole picture.

We must TRUST God to walk by faith!

Before Jesus went to the cross, He warned His disciples that there would be trouble in this world.

John 16:33 says: “I have told you these things, so that in me you  may have peace.  In this world you will have trouble.  But take heart!  I have overcome the world.”

So where are you focused?  Have you lost your heavenly perspective?

If your eyes are focused on things above, you will:

1. Serve others cheerfully.
2. Be kind to others even when they don’t reciprocate.
3. Be patient with someone who may take more time moving or speaking.
4. Work as unto the Lord, no matter what job you hold.
5. Realize that each trial is a lesson to be learned.
6. Understand that others may be watching your reaction to trouble.
7. Depend on the Lord in all things.
8.  Pray without ceasing.

Where’s your focus?

Are you walking by sight or … by faith?

Blessings and love,

Heart Choices

It’s awesome to be reminded this way…to stay strong and be focused no matter what circumstances go around me. Especially with this new schedule change that would impact not only me but my family. And even more challenging as I’d be scheduled to work on those busiest nights, not good for my injured neck!

If I didn’t believe in God, I knew that’s the end of it! Hopeless! Bummer!

But we serve a God of hope Who is faithful…It’s hard to be out of focus but I surely don’t want to be there again. With the Lord, everything is really clear. God bless you sister and may you have a wonderful rest of the week. Love you in Christ.

Sometimes my view slips away from where it should be. But, each day is a new beginning! There are everyday challenges where God will strengthen us if only we will look to Him! Thanks for this encouragement…and for the list you posted.

I think that I currently walk more by sight than by faith. I should know better, because of God’s faithfulness in the past. Thank you for the reminder to keep my eyes focused on the One who is faithful.

I would love to say that I continually walk by faith, but it’s been hard over the last year. I still allow my circumstances and those things that I only can see to dictate what I fix my eyes on. I need to learn to see with spiritual eyes, always looking at my Savior and only seeing the promises He lays out for me in His Word.
