Don’t Give Up

Life is often not at all what we expect or want it to be.  It stretches us beyond what we think we are capable of being stretched. It challenges us with situations we know we are not capable of handling on our own. It brings us to our knees as we struggle with thoughts of giving up.  However something deep inside whispers, “Don’t give up! Don’t stop believing that it’s going to work out.”

When you’re going through a situation sometimes the last thing you want to hear is someone telling you it’s going to work out, especially if it’s something you’ve been dealing with for a while. But, if you don’t have that hope that the difficult times you’re dealing with aren’t permanent why even fight?

I would like to encourage anyone who is facing hard times. Don’t stop believing that God is able to turn it around. Trust him to work it out. Know that he hears your prayers, sees your tears and that he has not forsaken you.

The Lord is a shelter for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble.

10 Those who know your name trust in you, for you, O Lord, do not abandon those who search for you.

Psalm 9:9-10 (NLT)

Don’t give up! We all experience times of hopelessness and despair that often extend far beyond what we think we can handle. No one is exempted from difficult times and none of us is capable of handling it on our own.  However if you’ll reach out your hands in faith, you’ll find Jesus there.  He’ll never abandon those who call on him.

Dear God, I pray today for those who are going through situations where it seems as if they are at the end of their rope.  Give them strength to hold on, to trust you to work it out on their behalf.  Place people in their path to encourage them and help them when they feel too weak to make it one more day.  May they take heart in knowing that you have not, and will not abandon them. Amen

You have no idea how timely this word is for me today! Thank you! And please pray for my friend, Denise Oldham. This is where she’s at in her life right now and desperately needs our prayers on her behalf.

I like your statement: “none of us is capable of handling it on our own.” We who know Jesus are the blessed ones because of surrender.
