Where are you Jesus?

Where are you Jesus?

I am here.

Things have not gone my way.

I am never late.

“But these things I plan won’t happen right away. Slowly, steadily, surely, the time approaches when the vision will be fulfilled. If it seems slow, do not despair, for these things will surely come to pass. Just be patient! They will not be overdue a single day!” (Habakkuk 2:3, The Living Bible)

Everyday trials have become so loud in my head.

I am here.

“Surely God is my help; the Lord is the one who sustains me” (Psalm 54:4 NIV)

I don’t like who I am.

You are mine, I turn ashes into beauty.

To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes…
- ISAIAH 61:3 KJV

People have failed me.

I will never fail you.

Lamentations 3:22 It is of the LORD’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. (KJV)

People have hurt me.

I will never forsake you.

Heb 13:5 “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” (NIV)

A family member lost a sibling who was an officer. I am scared of losing my sibling who is an officer.

I am your peace.

Psalm 4:8 I will lie down and sleep in peace, for you alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety.

Father where are you?

My dear child, I AM:

  • in the rain that watered your plants.
  • in the prayers of your friends.
  • in the miracle growing inside your sister’s stomach, do you remember how much you
  • prayed for that?
  • I am the comfort for the family who lost a loved one.
  • I am the peace when you don’t understand.
  • I am your love, I am your joy, I am your peace.
  • Exodus 3:14 God said to Moses, “I am who I am . This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I AM has sent me to you.”

    I AM

      Laurel,

I think often you talk to the Lord just like this. I know I do. This post is so powerful, utterly personal. When we think that our God truly says these words to us, how can we ever feel defeated.

      AWESOME!

      Love you,

Habakuk 2:3 is the verse that I litterally claimed years ago. I was a single parent of 19 years and I was at the end of my “patience” with the Lord. He led me to this scripture and I “named it and claimed” it as a promise from him. That faith helped me to wait for the most blessed event in my life. I met the man the Jesus wanted for me. All I had to do was wait. (one of the hardest things that we are asked to do). Now I try to practice waiting on the Lord.
