How’s your relationship with Jesus?

I love to get together with friends from church, whether it’s at a church fellowship activity or just sitting around a picnic at the beach. We usually chat about our kids and our marriages, our jobs and all the things going on in our lives. It’s good to have friends to hang out with.

There are a few friends, a small handful, who dare to go deeper. These friends stop mid-sentence and ask if we could pray, RIGHT NOW, for that situation, or probe into my quiet time experiences. “What has God been teaching you lately?”

Who is asking you….”What are you learning in the Word this week?” Are you that kind of friend for someone else? I’m challenged to open up a little more and share that some days I read my Bible but I can’t remember it for the life of me. I really did spend time with God this morning, but it quickly got overtaken by my to-do lists.

I need people in my life who talk with me about these things. My relationship with Jesus is personal, but it’s also corporate. We are the body of Christ and we are to encourage one another and spur one another on in our daily walk with the Lord. I want to have ears that are open to hear the Holy Spirit speaking to me, whether it’s through my quiet time, a sunrise or a best friend.

So, I was wondering,…..what has God been teaching you lately? I’d love to hear!

Love the challenge. God is nudging me to go higher… higher with my praise. Higher with my faith. And raise the bar higher in my teaching and understanding of His Word.

God is reminding me daily that grace is the most important word in my life. If I get irritated through situations, He reminds me to extend grace to others as He has extended to me.
