IN TRIBUTE TO….REV. A.E. HALL, A FAITHFUL SOLDIER AND WARRIOR FOR THE KINGDOM OF GOD

And it fell on a day, that Elisha passed to Shunem, where was a great woman; and she constrained him to eat bread. And so it was, that as oft as he passed by, he turned in thither to eat bread.

And she said unto her husband, “Behold now, I perceive that this is a holy man of God which passeth by us continually”. II kings 2:8,9 (KJV)

Rev A. E. Hall and his wife Sister Bernell Hall came to pastor our church in the early 1960’s, my husband and I were not married at that time in fact we did not know the other existed.

My husband Willis was just a young man in his 20’s and Brother Hall and Sister Bernell just completely captured his heart. Willis and I were married in 1970 and Brother and Sister Hall visited our church often and I was also captured by the Spirit of God to their spontaneous love and true interest for everyone they came into contact with. (My husband said he loved to hug her neck because she always smelled soooo good, he used to tease her about smelling so good) But actually that could just have been the natural Godly smell  that came from her inner most being.

Brother Hall was elected the Chief Financial Officer and Secretary for the West Florida District of the Assemblies of God in 1974.  The District offices and campground are in Marianna, FL.  In 1981  I was having my morning prayer and the Holy Spirit directed me to go into the office and ask for a job.  Well, I hesitantly went into the office but Brother Hall was not there, but he did call me just a couple of days later and told me that there was to be an opening in his office in just a very few days and if the District Superintendent agreed I could have the position. I was walking on Clouds of Glory.

Let me say and believe me, other than my husband, I have never known a gentler, meek, honest man, or a man with more integrity.  Also, beside my husband,  I have never known a man with more love for his wife and children than Brother Hall.  Sister Hall went to live with God in early 2000 and everyone that ever knew her truly was  selfishly broken hearted. I say selfishly because she was so loved and revered by everyone; and no one wanted her to leave this world. But we also rejoiced that there would be no more pain, sleepless nights, or any agony for her anymore.  She instantly had a new body and she was instantly healed.

To this very day, Rev. A. E. Hall is no respecter of persons, rich or poor, famous or just every day, he treats everyone the same, and he is so loving and giving to all.   If you give him a gift no matter how big or small the gift, or the cost, it is always a treasure to him because someone loves him enough to think of him.

Last Saturday, January 17, 2014, Bother Hall’s children gave him a beautiful elegant party in honor  of his ninety years.

Brother Hall, Willis and I both love you and we hope we will all be here until Jesus comes for us, to take us home.   Love and blessings Gloria

Oh Gloria, thank you so much for this tribute to my Dad, A. E. Hall. This was one of the sweetest things I have ever read, it brought tears to my eyes. He had been such a blessing and inspiration to so many people. I am honored and blessed to call him my Father. I will make sure he reads this.
    Love you and thanks again.

That was so beautiful. He was the first Pastor I remember as a child. He is a very loving and caring man, so was Sis Hall. I love the Hall family. They are very close and dear to my heart. It was great seeing everyone at Bro Hall’s 90th Birthday party.

    Love,
