Reflections on Living a Legacy

End of Day

When daylight declares one last “Hallelujah!” across the fading sky, my soul searches through the moments of the day. Life is fleeting, the days seem shorter as my years grow in greater number. How will I be remembered if I don’t see another sunrise? Will it be said of me I was a fragrance and reflection of Christ, a lover of God and giver of grace? Should I awake to my Savior’s face, will He smile at me and say “Well done, My child,” or will I shrink back and wish I had lived to tell of Him more?

At the end of the day, I ask myself, have I pleased God in my thoughts, words, and actions? To be honest, there are many days when my willful, selfish heart is shattered by this question. I fall before Him with a broken, repentant hallelujah, seek His forgiveness and ask Him to rule over my moments the next day.

“May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O LORD, my rock and my redeemer.” Psalm 19:14

Won’t you join me in making this new day a day of grace and truth?

Lord, I bring my broken hallelujah to you. Forgive me for the times I’ve failed to please you with my thoughts, words, and actions. I want my legacy to be a fragrant reflection of Christ. Rule over my moments and my days. May I give you never ending praise. In Jesus Name, Amen.
