Roaring Like A Lion

The name of the Lord is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.

Proverbs 18:10

Our new dog has adjusted very well in the country. He roams around the yard marking his territory and sniffing anything he doesn’t recognize. He’s a pretty big, strong dog. His size and his bark would definitely scare off someone who doesn’t belong in our yard. It rings through the trees and echos all around. He knows we are his people now and he is going to go at great lengths to protect us. We know that he will alert us with anything suspicious movement in the yard whether it is small or big. When he barks we pay attention to it.

I can’t help but think about our mighty God. He has a mighty roar that alerts not only us, but the enemy lurking around us. He keeps guard and watches over us, His children, every day. He is keeping a close eye on the enemy in every situation. When we feel like we’re in harms way, God is watching. When we feel weary from battle, God is right there with us. He makes sure we are safe. He wants no harm to come to us. When the enemy thinks he can sneak into our lives to wreak havoc, God roars at him to stay back. If we are blood bought, obedient children of the Most High, we can rest assured in our safety. The Lord is our Strong Tower, our Mighty Fortress!

Ladies, keeping down the home front can be weary and can exhausting. As a full-time wife and mother of three energetic boys, I feel you. We may become afraid of the enemies attack on our husband and children, family and friends, and on our own lives. We have to trust that God, who fashioned us and created us, can protect us. Sure trials will come, but God doesn’t let the enemy have rule in our lives. He rules us if we are truly His child. I fret many times about situations or circumstances that could arise, but the Holy Spirit brings to my mind scriptures of peace and protection. Storing that Word in our heart is so vitally important for us sweet sisters.

So when you are tempted to fret over the attacks of Satan, stop and go to our Father. Find scriptures that talk of His might and remember that He is in control of your life and of the ones you love.

Lord, thank You for being mighty and strong. Thank You for displaying that might by the death of Jesus on the cross. With that death and resurrection, you defeated death and Hell. You also defeated Satan’s plans for us. Help us to rest in Your Word and know Your Word. May we rest in the assurance of Your Hand over our life. Thank You for comforting us with Your Holy Spirit. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Thank you sweet Heather for th reminder to go to our Father when we get discouraged or fret. I guess that is why I love to read the Psalms.

Loved the connection made here. Our dogs always alert us to when a stranger is near our house, and when they bark, we go look. Funny, how we are quick to have closed off ears when our Heavenly Father warns us about the stranger danger that lurks around our spiritual homes. Lord help us to put on our listening ears!
