Rowing against the wind?

nov.2012 082

Then the sea arose because a great wind was blowing. So when they had rowed about three or four miles, they saw Jesus walking on the sea and drawing near to the boat; and they were afraid. But He said to them, “It is I; do not be afraid.” John 6:18-20

I wish we could see more clearly the Lord in our storms, when the winds of adversity blow strong in our lives, and hear His voice reassure us, “It is I; do not be afraid.” If we believe the promises of God, then we believe He never leaves us or forsakes us. This means He is always with us – even when the wind blows hard against our efforts of moving forward.

He is Emmanuel – God with us. He is the very same God who created the world; the same God who spoke it all into existence. Jesus; the word made flesh to dwell among us. He was there in the beginning.

In the beginning was the Word; and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, And without Him nothing was made that was made. John 1:1-3

Much time has passed since that first Christmas night, when the Word became flesh. The image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation (Col. 1:15) was born in a stable. He slept in a manger so the poorest could have access to Him and the richest would need to bow down to see Him. From that moment until now, He has been “God with us.”

If we have bowed our hearts before Him and call Him our Lord, then whatever we face in life; wind, stormy seas, He is with us. Emmanuel is here!

Let’s celebrate His presence this Christmas, and as we give gifts to others, may we remember that knowing Jesus is the best present we could ever give, and the only one that comes with a true lifetime guarantee.

Have a blessed Christmas,

Charlotte

What a powerful Christmas message, Charlotte. It is true that He is always with us and it gives me peace to know no matter what I face each day, He will guide me through the storms of life.

Merry Christmas to you and yours Charlotte.
