The Secret Place

Are you living your life in a hurry, spending each day on the run
Do you make big decisions, without a clear vision, just hoping the God’s will is done

For the past few weeks I’ve been feeling a sense of dissatisfaction. It’s been a nagging, annoying feeling that just won’t go away no matter how hard I try to ignore it. It’s the looking back and comparing and knowing that something just doesn’t measure up.

God has given you His Spirit to lead you, if you’ll only take time to hear
By His word, with His wisdom, He’ll feed you. He’s just waiting for you to draw near

As a result of my felling of dissatisfaction, I’ve been looking at my relationship with my heavenly father.  I know that there are deeper depths and higher heights in him to attain and I’m not content to settle for less. Unfortunately, sometimes because of the busyness of life it’s easy to take your walk with God for granted. Hence, this past week I’ve spent time crying out to Him asking Him to speak to me, reveal to me what is missing because I know He will never be happy to be anything less than first in my life.

And take time to sit at His table. He has a place prepared daily for you
Make time to spend in His presence. Hear His voice whisper, “My child…I love you.”

I came out of my time with him refreshed and rejuvenated.  I also realized that He wants more of my time. He wants me to spend more time In that secret place, the shadow of the Most High.

1 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. Psalm 91.1 (NIV)

Lord help us to always take time from our busy schedule to spend in your presence so that we can continue to grow in our relationship with you.

Amen to that, Bernadine. We know that if I do not take the time at least once a day to sit at His feet, I am missing out. I run out of ‘steam’…

Thank you for the reminder to spend time with Him on a regular basis.

Wonderful post. You inspire me to expand my quiet time with God. Been so chaotic lately, I think I need it! 🙂

Very inspiring post! Life can get so busy that it causes us to take our attentions off what is really important. Thank you for encouraging us to stay on task with our quiet times!
