Secrets, secrets and more secrets

Have you noticed the dependency that we have on social media? Seems old school to even think about actually calling someone direct or sending an email!

This growing dependency has heightened concerns about privacy. Seems like every week someone is getting hacked on Facebook or Twitter, not mention the fact that using your debit card is becoming a risky business these days.

Don’t even get me started on the concerns about privacy when it comes to the Government! Believe me, even as I post this, I know without a shadow of a doubt, that someone has the authority and the ability to know what I am doing, what I am posting and where I am spending my money.

Recently, everyone was posting on Facebook concerns about losing their privacy and being made to pay for their “right” to post on their private page. I understand that this and the other issues I’ve mentioned are a great cause for concern, however, Believers need to realize there is a MUCH bigger issue at hand.

“Secrets” are being exposed everywhere. Keeping confidence is no longer what it use to be. Secrets are told in family. Secrets are told at work. Secrets are told among friends. And secrets are told at church. We may or may not be able to keep secrets from others; but one thing I know: God knows EVERYTHING.

God knows every word spoken. Every word thought. Every act done. Even those things done behind closed doors. He has a way of shining a bright spotlight on those things done in the dark.

“All that is secret will eventually be brought into the open, and everything that is concealed will be brought to light and made known to all.” -Luke 8:17

It is my prayer that each of us will reflect on what kind of secret keeper we are. May we allow God to probe every corner of our being; our thoughts, our words, our actions, our relationships. May we seek God, even in our privacy, may His light shine brightly.
