Under Construction

At nearly 34 weeks pregnant I am amazed week after week to read the updates on baby sites that tell about the baby’s development during that week.  There are constant changes and growth to prepare the baby for his or her arrival into the world.

We have had three ultrasounds between weeks 8 and 20.  Each one shows a little more detail and development of our baby. It is clear to see the baby growing.

One of my church friends gave me this little picture frame for one of our ultrasound pictures. I love how it says “Under Construction” at the bottom.

This clearly fits for a baby as he or she is woven together in the mother’s womb.  But it also fits for us as adults too.  The changes may not be as clear on the outside from week to week as they are for a developing baby, but all of us are “under construction.”

When we become Christians, we are not supposed to stay the same.  The growth isn’t necessarily easy or pleasant, but it is necessary.  Because of the trials we face, we become more mature.  If we never face trials we won’t grow.

Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” James 1:2-4

We should never stop growing in our pursuit to be more like Christ.
But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen.” 2 Peter 3:18

All of us were created by God in our mother’s wombs.  He has a plan for each of us.  Once we become Christians we need to keep growing.  After all none of us are perfect, and we are all “under construction.”

“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.  I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” Psalm 139: 13, 14

Have a day of blessings!

Yes, we are indeed “under constructions” for the rest of our time this side of heaven.

I am so excited for you all! Looking forward meeting the new addition of your family.
