With The Power of Love
“For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.” ~ 2 Timothy 1:7 (ESV)
A couple weeks ago, our Pastor was talking about love. It had a huge impact on me. You see, we often times are not moving forward due to fear. We are afraid of not succeeding or failing a mission we are put on. However, knowing that God’s love is within us, we can cast out that fear to move forward.
As I had mentioned, my husband has been very sick. One thing that I have to help him with, is administering his insulin. Every night I have to poke him with a needle; it is tough. I am afraid that I hurt him. However, I move forward because I love him, and I want him to get better.
“There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.” ~ 1 John 4:18
My dear friends; life is not always perfect and there are time we are fearful. John states in his 1st letter that there is no fear in love. This verse is becoming more and more my go-to verse. When I find myself spiraling down in fear, I remember that verse. You see, God’s love for us gives us the strength we need to move forward…and cast out the fear we might have.

Lord of Heaven and Earth. Thank You for Your love that gives us strength. May I always cling to Your word that gives me peace. In the precious name of Jesus, Amen!

I was so sorry to read of your husband’s health issues, but I am sure he so appreciates your devotion to serve and help him even through your fear. These trying and difficult times often teach us the greatest lessons, don’t they.
