THIS TIME OF YEAR WE START TO THINK ABOUT EASTER SUNDAY

This time of the year, we start to think about Easter Sunday.

I saw a picture that was in a scene from the movie, “The Passion of Christ”.  The scene where Jesus has just been beaten to a bloody pulp by the Roman soldier. And is laying on the floor. A torn and bloody sacrifice almost unrecognizable as a human being.

When I saw this movie, and the beatings started I could hardly look at the screen but  my eyes were riveted to the screen and; all I could do was cry and say aloud Precious Jesus, Precious Jesus, how could you love me so much?  HOW?

After the beatings and the crown of thorns was so violently shoved on His Head I asked  again, Jesus, how could you love me so much?  HOW?

In the scenes of His being nailed to the cross my mind was so filled with  wonder at how He who knew NO sin would be willing to take on Himself every sin and evil deed of all mankind on His precious self and endure this for me and for you. HOW?

In the last scene on Resurrection day when Jesus stood up to leave the tomb; my heart almost exploded with joy.  Jesus was FREE!! He had done His Fathers’ Will and His being free meant that anyone that accepted His sacrifice on the cross and makes Jesus his or her personal Savior is free also!!

Dear Readers this is all PURE LOVE FROM GOD THE FATHER THROUGH THE OBEDIENCE OF JESUS HIS SON, SO THAT WE CAN HAVE ETERNAL LIFE. AND LIVE WITH THEM FOREVER WHEN THE TRUMPET SOUNDS AND WE ARE CAUGHT UP IN TO THE AIR TO FOREVER BE WITH THEM.

Just as Jesus had to obey Father God and give Himself as a sacrifice for our sins, we must accept this wonderful, amazing, glorious gift by realizing that we need Jesus as our Savior, ask Him to forgive us of every sin and trespass in our lives, and from that moment on live our lives pleasing to Jesus.

Blessings Gloria

I remember sitting in the theatre watching this movie and so overcome with grief, we cannot even fathom what our Lord did for us. Never one day do I want to forget or take for granted His sacrifice. Thanks Gloria for the reminder of the pain and purpose of the cross.

The movie is very powerful if you see it as a follower of Jesus. It is very graphic, but I think sometimes we need to see it because it makes clear how much He loves us.
