Looking Towards the Future With Hope

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.  Proverbs 3:5,6 (NKJV)

Eleven years ago Iris Nelson, the owner of Laced With Grace, asked if I’d like to join the team of writers that made up this wonderful website. I not only said yes, I’ve been blessed to meet some of the writers and readers. I feel at home here. Over the course of those eleven years, I’ve written 182 devotionals. This team and you, our dear readers, have journeyed with me through the good times – grandbabies being born, our son’s marriage, and other celebrations, travels, and ministry opportunities. The journey also entailed some deep sorrow – the passing of loved ones, my breast cancer journey, my stroke and then my husband’s stroke and ongoing rehab. I’ve always wanted my writings to be encouraging and hopefully helpful as we’ve blazed new trails together in our various seasons of life.

No matter the season, we can trust Him. When an icy grip attempts to engulf us . . . we can trust Him. This journey through life will sometimes have blue skies, other times it will have its perils. Life is uncertain . . . downright fearful at times. In our finiteness, we can’t see around the next bend, but our all-knowing, infinite God can. We can trust Him, not our own limited line of vision to direct your path.

And now it’s time for a new season, a new journey. With great sadness, this will be my last post here at Laced With Grace. I’m not sure what all is around the next bend as we approach 2020 and a new decade, but I can promise you, I will still be writing because there’s beauty to behold in every season of life. We simply need to behold Him in the dailies. What we behold, what we look towards, is what we become. I love this quote by Charles Spurgeon:

Nearness to God brings likeness to God. The more you see God the more of God will be seen in you.

In every season, I want to be seeking Him. I want to behold Him and become more like Him.

We all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit. 2 Corinthians 3:18

Some have suggested now may be the time for me to write the book I’ve had on my heart for some time now. We shall see. My hopes and dreams for the future are not found in the coming of this new year, this new season. My hope is in the One who makes all things new.

If you would like to journey with me, thanks to technology and social media, here’s where you can find me. I write 3-5 times a week on my Facebook Page, Marsha’s Musings. I also have a blog that I’m hoping to become more regular on, it is also called Marsha’s Musings and can be found at http:www.marshasmusings.com. My email is MarshasMusings@gmail.com.

Lord, I’m thankful for technology and many of the scientific advances we have today, but may I intentionally run on Your power. Direct my path as I journey through life. May I behold You. It is in You and You alone that I have hope. Not a wish or a maybe. It’s an assurance that You, God can be trusted. It is in knowing this I find my joy and peace even in the midst of trials. To Jesus I will cling. Amen and Amen.

    I applaud the faithfulness of the writers here, Marsha. God is faithful. Your testimonies are evidence of that. Love in Christ,

    Marsha, thank you from the bottom of my heart for sticking with this blog for 11 years. You have been such a blessing to many and especially me.
    Yes, life is hard at times, but like you, my hope is in the Lord. Even though, I cannot see around the bend, I know that I can trust Him for whatever comes my way.
    Funny, the other day I was thinking about my own personal blog that I haven’t written on for years. Maybe we should bring back Thankful Thursdays…and as for you, Lady, you should write your book.

      I would love it if Thankful Thursday could be resurrected again! It’s was where so many of us met. You have a gift for connecting people. Thank you, my friend.

    Marsha, it has been pure joy to team with you and the ladies. I don’t know why this feels like a break up because it certainly is not! We are all connected by kindred friendship and sisters by the blood of Christ! I will be following you on Facebook! Much love and big hugs!
