Accept Your Responsibility
Blaming others isn’t anything new these days. In fact, placing blame where blame does not belong has been happening ever since the Garden of Eden. Eve blamed the serpent and Adam blamed God. Neither Adam or Eve wanted to take responsibility for their part.
And ever since, we have been denying our responsibility in our problems.
Husbands blame their wives. Sons blame their Fathers. Siblings blame each other. Bosses blame their employees. Employees blame each other. The blame game is a constant revolving cycle unless we each take responsibility for our part.
Problems don’t just appear. Usually problems arise because more than one person doesn’t see eye to eye. Usually there are more than one sides to the story and if you think long and hard about it, there is probably more than one person at fault.
Believing “it’s their fault” may feel good for a season but eventually we all have to own up to our part. It’s called taking responsibility and God wants us to take responsibility for our wrong doings, He wants us to admit our sin.
Let’s look at what the Apostle John is saying to the church in 1 John:
“If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth.” (1 John 1:8)
John is speaking to the church and telling believers that they are only fooling themselves if they think they are without sin.
Consider the case of David. When Nathan rebuked David for his adulterous affair with Bathsheba, David owned up to it. He took responsibility for ALL of it. He didn’t blame Bathsheba for tempting him, he simply said, “I have sinned against the Lord” (See 2 Samuel 12:13).
David messed up and he quickly took responsibility for his part. The question that I have today is, are you willing to take responsibility for your part of the problem?
Blaming others doesn’t solve anything, in fact, like Adam and Eve, not taking responsibility for your actions only pushes you further from God.
Today is a good day to stop blaming others and take full responsibility for what you have done (or haven’t done). Simply ask God to forgive you and if necessary go to someone who you have wrongly blamed and make it right.
PRAYER: Dear Lord; I have no one to blame for my wrong choices, I am completely responsible for my wrongdoing. Please forgive me Lord and help me from this day forward to not blame others for my actions. AMEN
BLESSINGS. Laurie

That is so true, Laurie. We often try to blame others when we have made bad choices. Thank you for the reminder to be honest, owning up to our mistakes.
