I need bullfrogs and mud pies
When you were a little girl….
-
Did you ponder the journey the seeds would take as you blew them from the dandelion?
When you were a little girl…..
- Did you imagine God was winking at you from the stars shinning in the night sky?
When you were a little girl…..
-
Were you certain that Ken loved you….. more than Barbie?
When you were a little girl…..
-
Did you make clover crowns, roll down grassy hillsides, and imagine what clouds felt like?
Each priceless experience, a love note penned by the Maker.
I smiled as I thought back over these moments of my childhood. Little did I understand at the time that God designed those fun times thinking of me. (Mom helped too.) God knew I would need childhood memories later in my adulthood. They draw me back to a simple time.
Life fills to overwhelming with deadlines, duty, and demands. I do not strive to become a stressed out, jittery porcupine. It just happens.
Isaiah 45:3 I will give you the treasures of darkness, riches stored in secret places, so that you may know that I am the LORD, the God of Israel, who summons you by name.
God waits for the girl who delights in play. He patiently waits. He has treasures stored up in secret places with our name on them. He stands by wanting us to receive them.
The weekend approaches. Spend time with the Maker. Smile broadly, laugh heartily, and love passionately like a little girl.
Lord, I stand amazed at the relentless pursuit of those You love. Thank you for quiet times where you wait with a much needed love note. Amen.

- Can you handle the truth?
What a lovely way to start my day. I didn’t think my quick stop to read your devotion would leave me feeling so wistful. My little ones and I have been spending lots of time in Narnia. The stories are so beautiful, I get a feeling of longing to find something magical, something adventurous. Yesterday I pondered that we have something magical and mysterious and adventurous in our God and His Word. We’ll find another world full of beauty and adventure one day. We’ll feel the breath of the Lion on our faces and run and laught with Him like children. Good to “see” you Lynn:)
Oh Lynn, this is so stunningly beautiful. It sent shivers down my spine. This is where I am, finding all the little gifts the Lord has ready for me, remembering many more and realizing how blessed I am. What an awesome God we serve.
This was like a soothing cup of warm coffee…what a refreshing and awesome devotional. Thank you.
I think that I will kick up my feet and read my book this weekend (after cleaning the house tomorrow morning)…
Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us today…Blessings on you weekend, Lynn…
