April Fool’s Day!

For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.   For it is written:
“I will destroy the wisdom of the wise;  the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate.”Where is the wise man? Where is the scholar? Where is the philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe. Jews demand miraculous signs and Greeks look for wisdom, but we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles, 24but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. For the foolishness of God is wiser than man’s wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man’s strength. (1 Cor. 1)

Do not deceive yourselves. If any one of you thinks he is wise by the standards of this age, he should become a “fool” so that he may become wise. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God’s sight. As it is written: “He catches the wise in their craftiness” and again, “The Lord knows that the thoughts of the wise are futile.” (1 Cor. 3)

He called a little child and had him stand among them.

And he said: “I tell you the truth, unless you change and

become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom

of heaven. Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child

is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. (Matthew 18)

 1 Corinthians 4:10
We are fools for Christ

Are you willing to be a “fool” in the eyes of the world…in order to follow Christ?

ABSOLUTELY! I think of that often, because as Christians, we will often be following the Lord in something and someone else (Christians and non-Christians) will think it’s weird or follish, but if we believe it’s the Lord’s leading us, then we are to follow His will. It always goes back to perspective for me. I want the Lord’s perspective in all things…it keeps me close to the cross and on my knees.
    Thanks for sharing!!

I certainly love to be a ‘fool’ for Christ. Nothing in this world will ever renounce my faith.

Thank you for sharing Scripture with us.

    Ellen,

This is a powerful post. In our modern culture to appear foolish is the worst thing that can happen to a person.

I am foolish….. Foolish for my Savior. However, not foolish because we know the end of the story. WE WIN!!!! Amen. Loved this post.
