The ‘Sisterhood’
“Three times I pleaded with the Lord about this, that it should leave me. But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”
~ 2 Corinthians 12:8-10 (ESV)
Although we don’t know what Paul’s thorn was (that is really not what I want to focus on); we do know that Paul boasted in the strength of Christ. And he was supported by the members of the Way (I like that word “The Way†– maybe we should revert to that)…
Within the last week, three of my sweet sisters in Christ were under spiritual attack. I am certain that more are under attack, but I know these three sisters intimately. They have grown very close to my heart. One might wonder why they were under this attack. Personally, I am not surprised. They confess Christ as their Lord and Savior; they share their knowledge with anyone who will listen that He is the Only Way to heaven…
Guess, who doesn’t like it…Yeah, he is getting scared. You see, the Internet reaches around the world. Even to countries where Christianity is forbidden. We all know that people are searching—they are searching for truth—the Truth that will set them free.
When we are under such attack, we need not to fear. We have two huge weapons—His Word and the ‘sisterhood’ of believers in Christ. The ‘sisterhood’ is strong, believe me. Little by little we are breaking down the walls of denomination. I think that is why Satan is so scared. He can no longer hold us in that boundary. Because we are standing united to defeat the only enemy we have. We are united in Him who gives us the strength to stand.
“For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ. For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body–Jews or Greeks, slaves or free–and all were made to drink of one Spirit.â€
~ 1 Corinthians 12:12-13 (ESV)
My beloved sisters in Christ—carry on proclaiming His glorious name to the end of the earth with your keyboards. His Spirit will guide you—the ‘sisterhood’ will cover you in prayer.
Lord of Heaven and Earth. Many will say that You will never rescue us. We know that You will be watching over us as we sleep and all our waking moments. Victory comes from You, Oh Lord. In the precious name of Jesus we pray ~ Amen!

Good Morning, Iris! I’m truly humbled and undeserving to be the Featured Site this week. If there is any good in me, it is because of Christ!
This post is so good. The enemy never rests, but we can rest in Christ. Just yesterday in Sunday School we were talking about the enemy and how if we will just raise a hand and start praising God, the enemy will flee. I know it’s true in my life.
God is good…all the time.
Amen!! Very well said. We have proved the sisterhood of belief in Jesus Christ is extremely strong and it helps point us in the only direction for substance – to Him!
Hope you put your armor on this morning, because girl THIS WAS AWESOME!!! It was soothing to my soul to read this, this morning and be reminded we are not alone in our battles.
Praise God!!!
Oh and I love your reference about breaking down the walls of denominations. I think you hit it on the head!!!!
I think you did too. I have witnessed first hand the power of unity across denominational lines, and God is doing some things! He is speaking, and He is ready to go after the lost, and bless those who are called by His name. He is ready for us to be set free from the chains that have been holding us down far too long. And I, for one, am going to be in the middle of what He’s doing!
Oh Iris,
This post is profound and I agree, Satan is scared because the walls of denominations is crumbling. I had not thought of our blogosphere as the crumbling walls but it is. Amen, Jesus come, we will be a united church.
I feel uplifted today. I thank God often for the Sisterhood!! I am humbled to be just a tiny part of this “church.” THANK YOU for a FANTASTIC post!
Amen! Yes, the attacks have been going around–and God is proving that He is greater.
I noticed that someone the other day from the Philippines had been on my blog. The post title came up in a Google search. The post was all about God. I thought, how sad they probably could not read it because it was in English. I followed the lead back to my site and it was no longer in English but it was in their language. How cool! We are reaching the world—–God promised His words would not come back void.
I’m glad I discovered your blog today! Will definitely visit again. Yes, Satan is scared – and fighting back hard. I am a pastor’s wife and see it in so many ways. Praise God, for He is greater than he (Satan) that is in the world!
p.s. – your blog has a typo – I know you meant to say Satan is scared, but it reads “sacred” – thought you’d like to know!
Thank you for this post Beckie. You are right…With God all things are possible. Love that you walk the walk as well as talk the talk.
What an encouraging post…..I am so glad I visited…..even if I did it at work :o)).
Blessings
Iris, I’m so thankful to the online community, in particular my sisters in Christ. Thanks for being one of them.
This was a wonderful, and very powerful post. Thanks for sharing my dear friend.
As one who was under attack last week I can say a big and hearty AMEN! The sisterhood is STRONG, praise God! Fantastic post, Iris!
That was so well said Iris. I have been thinking the same thing about us. The things that might otherwise divide us just don’t even seem to come up on this little blogging world. We cry for each other, pray for each other, encourage each other, support each other with our finances – never even knowing which denomination one or the other of us is. I think God is well pleased with that. I know the enemy isn’t. We must be doing something right.
I like your sisterhood. Every sister in this sisterhood uses her words and experience to encourage&comfort the other sisters. So wonderful! I am also very glad to find your sisterhood.
I am also under the attacks from Satan, but I know who He is I am depending on. He is the king of kings!
Thanks for your sharing words.
We are family,
I got all my sistas and me,
(sing with me girls)
We are family…
I have seen an amazing thing this past couple of weeks from this sisterhood. God works in us and through us with an amazing kind of love. I have felt the attacks myself, but am always encouraged that when attacks come, it is a sign that God must be moving me along His path and away from Satan’s plans – and he’s not liking it a bit!! 😉
Just read this verse tonight, “And the most important piece of clothing you must wear is love. Love is what binds us all together in perfect harmony. And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are all called to live in peace. And always be thankful. (Colossians 3:14-15)
When we let that love heal us, the body of Christ grows ever stronger! Thank you for the thoughtful post!
I am thankful to have found you and grateful you have revealed to me the resources available through this community. It is such a blessing and I have been encouraged. Thanks again.
Amen.
