God is Bigger than the Boogyman

Flickr image by Little An: Matthew 6:25-3431So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Right now my life is full of potential worries–and I bet yours is too.

I could sit here all night worrying about whether my husband will get enough sleep, if his stomach issues are going to end up bigger than we think, what the results of his tests are going to be. I could sit here worrying about whether the x-rays are going to show that Rachel broke a toe or her foot or that the doctors bills are going to drown us. I could worry that the program I am trying to set up won’t do what I need it to and that this big plan God seems to have before us isn’t going to work because I don’t know .php.

I could, but I refuse.

Right here, right now, I am choosing not to worry because God told me not to and I am determined to obey.

Do not worry. That is a direct command. Worry is a deliberate disobedience–not a right as a parent (no matter how many times we deny it.) If God is in control then HE IS and if He isn’t then we better find something else to believe in.

My husband may have to have surgery, my daughter may as well, we may drown in doctors bills, and my program may not work–we have no guarantee of any worldly thing, not health, wealth, or even a home. We do have a promise that God is in control and WILL use it for our good if we love Him.

God is good, all the time.

Lord, help us to flee the temptation to worry. Help us to stand strong in You, knowing that You are in complete control. You are awesome and mighty and a very present help in times of trouble. Thank You Lord, for Your presence. Amen.

What worries have you been holding onto?

I find it facinating God commands us not to worry. What would our lives reflect if we could really turn all over to Him?

I know what you mean….we all do, I guess….I’ve got a good problem going on around here for our life group: we need more seats. But I don’t more seats. That’s just something God is going to have to handle before Sunday night. I don’t know how. I resisting the urge to worry.

That should say “I don’t HAVE ANY more seats” And “I AM resisting the urge to worry”

Do not worry any more…thank you so much for sharing this message with us. I need it very much thought I know this message in my heart deeply, I still worry about something in my life, even I worry about my tomorrow…but thanks be to the Lord, He command us not to worry about the earthly things, then of course he will supply us to live on earth. This moring on my way to the company, I saw a little sparrow walking on the ground, that time I just prayed ” Dear lord, I know that the sparrow does not seed nor reap, but he still live happily, so why should I still worry about for my life any more…I am moooooooooore cherished by you…”

Dear sister, I know the Lord care and love your family, he will support and help your family to go through the way left on earth…Just STOP WORRYING
