Reformat…Again

Just about the time it seems you’ve got a handle on something, life steps in and messes you all up. Whether it’s organization, eating, or any other weakness – when you (I) try to do anything under my own power It all falls apart.

Sometimes I feel as though I’m banging my head against a wall, fighting this battle and that battle. And then there’s the other battle that I don’t even know I’m fighting until I’ve lost.

The battle is with others, it’s with me, and it’s with the world. We are in a battle, and it’s not against flesh and blood I(except our own).

Sometimes I struggle with depression – and it can sneak up on me and I find myself in the pit. I read David’s Psalms; it seems he struggled with his own battles – but in the end he was about praising God.

This I know – when I am weakest, God shows His strength. When I am lowest, God proves that He is the Most High.

Psalm 97

1 The LORD reigns, let the earth be glad;
let the distant shores rejoice.

2 Clouds and thick darkness surround him;
righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne.

3 Fire goes before him
and consumes his foes on every side.

4 His lightning lights up the world;
the earth sees and trembles.

5 The mountains melt like wax before the LORD,
before the Lord of all the earth.

6 The heavens proclaim his righteousness,
and all the peoples see his glory.

7 All who worship images are put to shame,
those who boast in idols—
worship him, all you gods!

8 Zion hears and rejoices
and the villages of Judah are glad
because of your judgments, O LORD.

9 For you, O LORD, are the Most High over all the earth;
you are exalted far above all gods.

10 Let those who love the LORD hate evil,
for he guards the lives of his faithful ones
and delivers them from the hand of the wicked.

11 Light is shed upon the righteous
and joy on the upright in heart.

12 Rejoice in the LORD, you who are righteous,
and praise his holy name. (NIV)

    I so agree with you…the ‘battlefield’ can make one weary. Thankfully the Lord will sustain us through it all.

    I always love to read the Psalms for comfort.

    Be blessed today and always.

    I *SO* hear you. I invite you to read my blog entry from Monday July 23. It’s more long winded and less eloquent, but we seem to be struggling with similar things.

    Thanks for sharing. Again I praise God that I was led to this blog 🙂

    I am enamoured by the Psalms lately. 97 is awesome. I may have to post about 91. One of my favorites.

    Great Post!

    Although I love His Word in its entirety, the Psalms always bring me the most comfort.

    Praying for you, dear sister in Christ.
