Mountain Mover!
I love that Caleb sings. He has his favorite songs that he asks us to play over and over while he sings along. Usually he gets a few of the words wrong, but I love how he sings his little heart out! While we were driving on Wednesday after pulling out of the donut shop, he was eating and I heard him singing a few words. The radio was turned to a fairly low volume, but I turned it up and realized he was singing the same song that was playing…”Mighty to Save.” If you aren’t familiar with the song you can read all of the lyrics here. I’ve heard the song many times, but that day one particular line jumped out at me….
”Saviour He can move the mountains.”
I paused and just smiled and thanked God that HE CAN move mountains.
Do you have any mountains in your life? Are you facing something that seems impossible? When things look impossible to our human eyes, remember that we have the Mighty Mountain Mover on our side. God has reminded me continually the past week from blog posts I’ve read (like Kristi’s great news about her daughter Rachel’s doctor’s report), this song, devotionals I have read, and the passage from Ephesians 1:15-23 I read earlier today (which I also saw later tonight on the post before this one here at Laced With Grace!) that HE is the powerful mountain mover.
Do you believe He can move the mountains? Don’t try to move it on your own.
Matthew 21:21-23–Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and it will be done. 22If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.”
I think too many times we don’t really believe that God can do what He has said He can do, or we try to take it upon ourselves to handle the situation in our way instead of letting Him really handle it. I encourage you to trust Him today to handle the mountains in your life. He cares about the details, both big and small.

Amen, much truth spoken here my friend.
Amen!! I can push with all my might against my mountains and they won’t budge, but when I stop…listen…and trust…God comes through every time….
Yes Bethany, He can move the mountains in our lives. I often have to remind myself that He really is all that He says He is. And He is all we need.
I often take matters back that I think I can handle on my own. You are right, He moves mountains. I think that my biggest problem is that I am impatient.
Thank you for the reminder that He does move mountains.
What a blessing it is to have God’s word spoken (or sung) through our children. Praise God that He’s a mountain mover!
Living for Him, Joan
So glad that He is able to move the mountains in my life.
Amen to this, Bethany! I’m so thankful He is the one that must blast through that mountain. All I need to do is follow.
Thanks for this.
