A Four Hour Hot Dog Run?

As my husband and I have traveled across this great country of ours this summer, I have been in awe of the magnificent beauty of God’s creation. Each state brings its own beauty and wonder to our land.

The other evening my sister, Marsha and her husband took us on a four hour “hot dog run”. Yes, you read it correctly; a four hour trip to get a hot dog! No, they do not live so far out in the woods that they have to go four hours for a hot dog. This is a special trip over the spectacular mountains of Western North Carolina and Eastern Tennessee to view the majestic mountains and beauty of God’s ever changing creation. We finally reached the little hot dog stand called Tellico Beach Drive-In that is right beside a creek where people frolic, play, fish, and enjoy the beautiful scenery. We then returned another way to view stunning waterfalls along the creek on a mostly winding dirt road. Again, I must say, I am not a traveler, and so by the time we returned home I was so relieved to get out of the car! I am also thankful that they did not take us on what is called the Dragon. It is a zigzag 11 mile stretch of road around the mountains that has over 300 twists and turns!

As I sit outside our RV on the picnic table by the creek this evening, I am again reminded of God’s creation. He did not need to create all this for himself; he created all magnificent beauty for our pleasure. The God who spoke the world into existence cared enough to give all of His created beings exactly what they need and then added a little “extra” just to say, “I really do love you. You will not want for anything as long as you place your life in My hands.”

Dear gracious heavenly Father, as I read the above verse again, “Everything in the heavens and on earth is Yours, O LORD, and this is Your kingdom”; I am reminded that since everything is Yours, and You are the Creator of everything, including me, then I need to leave all my cares and woes in Your most capable and loving hand. You already know the outcome, the victory is already won, and all honor and glory belongs to You forever and ever Amen!

Beelieve You Can!

Not to mention the fact the hot dogs are great! LOL

I’m so glad I’m getting to share my part of God’s creation with you this week.

    Love you.

Yes – the beauty of His creation is a precious gift from the hand of our loving Father. I thought of that as we drove along the California coast this past May.

I really enjoyed this. I would love to travel and see all the differences of nature across the country. It was exciting for this Texas girl to see the mountains as we got to New Mexico as well as the Painted Desert in Arizona. that really made me want to see the Grand Canyon!

    Have a wonderful weekend!

Michele—I’ve been on some of those “stomach churning” mountain roads! WHEW! I was gritting my teeth just thinking about the zig-zag ride for you! MERCY!!! (That’s what my husband, Jeff would say!)

I am so glad you had a good time—this was a wonderful post!

    I love you girl!
