A Needle in a Haystack
Have you ever tried to find something that seemed impossible to find? Some might refer to that as looking for “a needle in a haystack.” In other words, it is nearly impossible.
I have encountered many “impossible” situations in my life, in fact, some of the impossibilities caused me to doubt if what I was needing, that very thing I was looking for, would ever be found!
Recently, God showed me how powerful He is in our impossible situations. It has always been a dream of mine to share my testimony of finding my dad after a 40 year separation in a book. I have contemplated and weighed the options of self publishing or not and after considering the cost involved, it just seemed impossible to me. Until about a year ago when I submitted a brief story to a well known inspirational book series, “Chicken Soup for the Soul”.
Not even thinking that I stood a chance to have my story picked, God had a completely different plan. Out of over 6,000 submissions, only 101 stories would make the final round in the book. The odds of mine being one of the 101 seemed very much like a needle in the haystack! Nothing that happens to us is by chance or the luck of the draw. I believe that God ordains and sets into motion a beautiful plan for our life and while we look at the impossible, He takes the first two letters of the word “impossible” out, (“im”) and makes things possible because the “i and m” becomes I AM!
Psalm 37:20 reminds us that “The steps of a man are established by the Lord and He delights in his way.”
He not only establishes our footsteps but He turns impossible “needles in a haystack” situations into God moments where He will get all of the praise and honor. Whatever you find yourself looking for, even if it seems impossible, give Him praise for what He is about to do!
