Another Monday
Another Monday. The start of another week and goodbye to the weekend. Maybe today is a day off from work or school for you since it is Presidents’ Day. In general it seems there aren’t many people who like Mondays. Every one is constantly looking forward to Friday. I don’t often hear people saying “hooray it’s Monday!” Instead we hear “it’s been a Monday,” and everyone seems to know what that means.
This Monday and every Monday is a day given by our Lord. We are never promised tomorrow and to have this day is a blessing.
“This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” Psalm 118:24
What should our response be to Mondays? Should we complain that a new work week is beginning? What benefit is it to be complaining? It lowers our spirits, it does not do anything for those around us either. Remember that the Lord gave us this day and rejoice in that.
As I was thinking about this I thought of an old familiar song “I Will Enter His Gates,” which is also a chapter from Psalms. It’s found in Psalm 100:4–
“Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.”
On this Monday I challenge you to find a way to spread some cheer to others today. Make someone’s day brighter. Sing and look for the positive in your day. Even if it is Monday, you can still be positive and thankful. Rejoice!
Happy Monday!

Even though I have been retired for a couple years, I still catch myself going into the “Oh no, tomorrow is Monday” mode on Sunday night. It’s cause for laughter now rather than dread. Thank you for this Monday morning encouragement. All of us whether retired or not, still need to dedicate each day to our Lord to be used by Him.
I am one of those who love Monday’s! It’s a fresh, new day to a new week. So I lpveewhat you shared! You always brighten my day,Bethany!
Amen.
You are right, Bethany; we should be rejoicing in every day the Lord is giving us. Although Monday’s are hard to get back up at 4am, it is a day the Lord has made.
