Blind Trust
I have a few devotional books that are my “go-to” books in the morning. Not all at one time granted, but I have a few tucked here and there in the house and especially the camper. The camper is a quiet place–and I love it when we pull away from the house in search of the beauty of God’s blessings. I want to share an excerpt from October 23, “God Calling”:
Hill of Sacrifice
You must trust to the end. You must be ready to go on trusting to the last hour. You must know even when you cannot see….You must be ready, like My servant Abraham, to climb the very Hill of Sacrifice, to on to the very last moment, before you see My Deliverance.
This final test has to come to all who walk by Faith. You must rely on Me alone.”
He requires the same of all of us. Blind Trust.
When we cannot see what’s ahead, hold on, keep walking. The way won’t always be known, or even clear–but TRUST HIM ENOUGH to keep going. Even as a child does, holding the hand of a parent. The child doesn’t know what’s around the bend…but he trusts his dad.
It is heartbreaking what many believers face–but we are not exempt from hardship–the only difference is, we have a HOPE. He is Jesus Christ. We can face death, uncertainty, disease, failures–with a HOPE that Jesus walks beside us.
Psalms 27: 1 NCV The LORD is my light and the one who saves me. So why should I fear anyone? The LORD protects my life. So why should I be afraid? Verse 3, Though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear; though war break out against me, even then will I be confident. (NIV)
While many of us may not encounter real “war” in the sense of a heated battle of guns and weapons, we do encounter war on many levels. War of words, the battle that ensues between family members–specifically in raising teens. Those wars are just an injurious at times as an all out brawl. Been there. On both ends, as being a rebellious teenager myself, and being the parent. But God’s word instructs us to not be afraid….trust HIM.
Even in raising a family, that may feel like blind trust…we don’t know the outcome –but we do have the opportunity to “know the Giver of life”. Jesus Christ. Our Savior and Lord.
I invite you today if you don’t know Him….find Him. Pray to Him. Learn to Trust HIM. Even when you feel like you are doing so blindly. That’s the sweetest kind of trust.

I needed this, Angie. We’re facing some huge uncertainties right now. It’s so hard not knowing what the future holds. Thanks for reminding me to trust God.
Powerful message, as always Angie. You are right, we are not exempt from hurts and failures. But we can call on the name of the Lord to give us the strength to see us through the rough spots. Been there often and there is nothing sweeter to sense His peace and let go of the trouble…
