Breathe

And Elohim is saying unto Moses, “I BECOME WHAT I BECOME
(Exodus 3:14)

Breathe in… breathe out. Listen as you breathe. Breathe from your mouth, in and now out. Can you hear it? Do you perceive something profound?

When God spoke His name to Moses (Exodus 3:14), it sounded to Moses like the breath of God. The Hebrew letters, YHWH, when coupled with the appropriate vowel points, sound of whole-hearted breathing.

Yahweh is a commonly accepted English reading of ( יהוה‎ ) the name of the God of Israel, as preserved in the original consonantal Hebrew Bible text. The four Hebrew consonants read YHVH (in English transcription). It is also common to use YHWH.

In both Hebrew and Greek, the word for spirit is the same as the word for breath. Our God is present in all things. His Spirit permeates every aspect of life. He is so everything, that His name is on our lips even as we breathe. In fact, the very first thing we do when we live on God’s earth is “draw our first breath,” and the very last thing we do is to “draw our last breath.” The name of the Lord is always being uttered—even from the mouths of those who don’t believe.

Psalm 150:6
Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. This is not a command. IT IS FACT!

Yahweh!

Exodus 3:14 (The Message)

God said to Moses, “I-AM-WHO-I-AM.

Tell the People of Israel, ‘I-AM sent me to you.'”

His name is on our lips even as we breathe. Yahweh, Yahweh, breathe in, breath out!

Praise the name of the LORD! Amen!

I have a little book titled the Names of God, and it gives the Hebrew name and the English name. It is a powerful book. Something about the name YHWH brings power, reverance, and peace…

    Beautiful, thank you.

“His name is on our lips even as we breathe.” What a comfort and sense of peace this brings.

I love this. I heard it preached once by a pastor that really helped me along in my faith. Thanks for the reminder. The pastor said it should be pronounced yah hey vah hey which really does sound like breathing. I often remember this when I do something physical that gets me to huffing and puffing, calling after God.

I love it when God breath is close to me – especially in time of need but also in time of celebration.

Thank you for sharing God’s breath with us today…Blessings on your afternoon and always…

I am doing a bible study now by Beth Moore called The Patriarchs-YHWH is wxplained in it. How profound that I would be reminded of this today. I am truly blessed.

Wow. God absolutely blows my mind. It’s so easy to put God into our little box and forget how big He actually is. How He is in everything and made everything and keeps it all going even while being involved in every individual life, forgiving each individual sin, and preparing that beautiful place for us to be with Him for eternity.
I just read an article that talked about how God’s name really can’t be pronounced. It’s like having a word in English with no vowels. You cannot pronounce it. The article basically said that God is showing how He is even above language and cannot be accurately described by any language!
    He is so amazing.

This is from Rob Bell’s Nooma clip Breathe. While entertaining, be careful though as it’s far from biblical but rather grabs part of the truth and then distorts it.
