Can You Hear Him Now??

mother-sister-weekend-079.jpgEver had a dropped call?  You know.  Like the commercial….you are talking and laughing…then suddenly you realized that you haven’t heard anything from the other side of the conversation in a while.  Dropped call.  Aggravating.  But….that’s life with electronic devices.  They are not always dependable.  When you need it most, you realize that you let the battery run down and it goes dead in the middle of the most impor…….

Right.  Just like that.  That is one thing you never have to worry about with God.  No dropped calls there.  No dead batteries….at least on His side.  Hmmm…food for thought here.  How do we keep our batteries charged?  Glad you asked!

In Mark 1:35 the bible says that “Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went to a solitary place where he prayed.”

Why?  If you read the previous verses you will find He was “expending His energy” in doing His Father’s will.  He was busy teaching the multitudes, healing the sick of all kind of diseases and casting out demons.  I think He had a right to be tired!

Now you may say…how? why?  After all He was God….but remember….He was made human.  He was just like you and me.  He got tired.  He became weary.  He even had to sleep.  But He knew what it took to stay charged.

When we get out of tower range, our cell phones are useless.  No calls coming in or going out.  I have been in that place.  Too far from the Tower.  Both physically and spiritually.  If disaster were to strike….what would you do?   Proverbs 18:10 says  The name of the LORD  is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and are safe.

Jesus knew He had to stay in constant touch with His father.  God is the “tower”…the Source of energy.   Jesus set the standard for the rest of us…pray….daily.  I will not tell you that you have to rise before the sun does….but before you get your day going….you need to spend time with the SonYour source of energy.  Without Him, your batteries won’t last the day.

Fortunately…..God hears us where we are.  He knows where we are….wherever we are—-at all times….

O Lord, you have searched me and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar.  You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways.  Before a word is on my tongue, you know it completely, O Lord.   You hem me in—behind and before; you have laid your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain. Where can I go from your Spirit?  Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me; your right hand will hold me fast.  If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me,” even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you.  For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.  Psalm 139:1-16

Plug your phone (heart) into the Source of strength….so that you can talk to Him…anytime…anywhere!  He is waiting—-holding on the line.  He loves conversations with you!

My sweet Lord, I have had the best conversations with You just this week.  I have felt Your Presence, Your peace and love surround my heart and life.  I want that for my family.  Every.Single.One.  Especially those that are avoiding “picking up the call”.  Lord, chase them—run with them—until they willingly run into Your safety. I believe with all my heart that they are searching for You. They just can’t see You for the darkness that the enemy has surrounded them with.  Uncover them.  Move the darkness.  Surround them with Light.  I forever praise Your most holy Name~Amen.

 Trusting Him,

  Angie

Angie this is such a beautiful post! Thanks for the reminder that we need to daily recharge and spend time in His presence. Like Lynn I want to go pray again and like Lori I’m wondering how often do I drop his call.

How beautifully this was written. How comforting to know that we never loose a call to Him, He’s always there….we are the ones who “drop” the call. How we all needed to be reminded of this fact. Thanks for sharing…Thanking Him that He is avaiable 24/7 and we NEVER receive a busy signal and He can “talk, listen” to all of us at once, no matter the time zone……Blessings on your life.

Thank you for those words. You blessed my heart again. I read a saying once that said “Remember you are never alone as long as you have Jesus Christ to call on” and we do have Him to call on. Thanks for the great analogy. I love the part about the “tower”, powerful!
