Fear or Faith?
There will always be dark and cloudy days. What once was familiar becomes unfamiliar. It’s in times like this that our emotions can take over and we operate out of fear rather than faith. We don’t see the path…we don’t see the reason why…we don’t see where we’re going anymore…we feel lost and alone, deserted.
Those dark and cloudy days put our faith to the test. That’s when we need to rely on the facts of who He is rather than relying on our feelings. Emotions and feelings change, He does not.
Become so intimately acquainted with the Lord, that when the familiar becomes clouded, you know you can still step out in faith knowing He has not changed. Memorize His Word, trace the contours of His character throughout Scripture. Study Him with the same intensity you would study the face of your newborn child.
I used every one of my senses to memorize my newborns. Stroking every inch of their faces and tiny bodies, memorizing their features and mannerisms, looking for markings unique to them, listening to their little sounds, holding them close and capturing their scent through the overpowering smell of the lotions and powders. No one was going to switch babies on me and me not know it. And if I ever lost any of my senses, I’d still know who they were because I painstakingly studied their every detail.
So when the clouds roll in totally blocking your view, rest assured–He’s still there. Even though the view appears to have changed, you know He has not. No circumstance can flip a switch that causes Him to disappear. He is because He’s I AM.
Selah.

I love the scripture you quoted Marsha and such a beautiful analogy you gave. Thank you for sharing from the heart. Fear has been coming up a lot in my readings lately… I wonder if God is speaking to me?:)
Amen Marsha! I have recently come out of a period like this. I did not understand why things were not happening and I felt forgotten by God. It’s hard when we are looking at the moment instead of looking to Him who knows the future. Thank you for encouraging us!
Amen, so very true. Love and blessings to you sis.
Oh so true, Marsha. No matter where life takes us, He is there through thick and thin.
I can relate and needed the reminder today about facts and not going by feelings. Pray for me please to have open eyes and heart to God’s leading
