A Father’s Love
Please welcome today our guest writer D’Lorah from “Joy Cometh in the Morning!”
I was spending some time with my father yesterday and he said something that made me think about God’s thoughts towards His children. My dad said he viewed his children as precious treasures that he didn’t want to share.
Wow! Isn’t this just how God views us? He doesn’t want to share us. He desires our worship. He desires first place in our lives. He desires our heart poured out to Him. He also spoke about wanting to help us stay on track, but without making decisions for us or telling us what to do. Almost like a game, how can I get this child to this, but without doing it for her.
God allows us free choice and we can make our own decisions. The Holy Spirit is our Helper, He is our guide in those decisions. Rejoice in the fact today that you have a Father who views you as a treasure and daily seeks to guide you while allowing you to make your own decisions. I pray that the word of God will be a lamp unto your feet and a light unto your path according to Psalm 119:105.
