Forever Home
I took the above photo just as I woke up from my nap on the last leg of my trip to the place I will forever call home. As I walked through the entrance of the airport I heard the beautiful sounds of Bahamian music drifting through the air from the live band that is there to welcome tired travelers.
As I heard the music a smile of anticipation came on my face. I’m home! No matter how long I’m away I never feel like a stranger and I’m always sure of my welcome. It is great to be around familiar faces and people who recognize you on sight.
I’m reminded though, I have another citizenship, another place where I will be welcomed with joyful smiles. As Paul stated in his letter to the Philippians;
But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself. Philippians 3:20-21
I think heaven must be similar to coming home after a long absence. Seeing familiar faces, welcoming smiles, opened arms and joyous greetings. Heavenly music filling the air as you whisper through happy tears, “I’m finally home.”
I look forward to that day, when I finally meet my Saviour face to face in a place that will truly be, forever home.

I am so happy for you that you were able to visit your home. I know the feeling; when I go home, I always have a huge smile on my face.
I too am looking forward to our forever home.
