Got Freedom?
What does freedom look like in your everyday life?
For me, freedom is a deep sense of peace from God. It’s acknowledging He has removed all my sins, past, present and future. It’s resting in His love and giving myself permission to enjoy each day. Praising Him no matter what, because the truth is I am forever free!
I often think of Paul and Silas in Acts 16 (starting with verse 16). If you are familiar with this story, you know that Paul and Silas were arrested and flogged and thrown in jail after speaking to a slave girl and commanding a spirit to come out of her. Regardless of this harsh and brutal treatment, here’s what gets me. Let’s look at verse 25:
About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them.
Can you imagine in the darkest hour of your day, while you are physically in pain and being mistreated, singing and praying to God? I admire such faith. I’m not sure what I would do if that happened to me. I can imagine I would feel forgotten and want to give up or cry. But the truth is I want to live that free. There is great power in prayer and praise, enough power to free.
So today, if you find yourself in a place of darkness or pain, please consider living free.
Sing to the Lord at midnight.
Pray and praise His holy name.
You know why I think this is huge? Because if you keep reading this story, you will see that Paul and Silas’s prayer and praise touched many lives. Other prisoners heard and responded by putting their faith in Christ. Not only that, their families were saved too.
Oh how I long to see people free from the chains that bind them. Free from the darkness and changed by God’s truth and light. Don’t you?
My challenge for you today is to live free. Sing praise and pray because others are listening and watching. You have no idea how your life example is speaking to others. Even today!

I think this is something that we all know we ought to do, but don’t do it. However, it’s great to be reminded. I am in a series of trials right now and know that when I praise I feel God’s presence ever stronger. Thank you for this reminder.
Thanks Tiffany! I’m beginning to realize that it is in the darkest times that His light shines brightest.
Blessings,
