God’s Peace, It Makes Things Possible
There are times in our life when we do things that we know is the right thing, but they are not the easy things to do. Sometimes it may be things that we want or may not want. It may be things that excite us or even make us anxious. But we know it is what God wants us to do. Anyone ever been there?
I have learned in the last several years that most of what God calls us to do, is not easy. It is anything, but easy. It’s hard. It’s messy. It’s a struggle. I found that out the hard way after being ignorant of the truth. Right now I am in another phase of this. Transition. Learning. Trusting. Growing. I am right there. I know what you are feeling. Life can throw curve balls at you sometimes. We think one thing and another happens.
For me, that is hard. I do not like changes or the unknown. I like to know step by step what is going to be going on. I know, I am on the wrong path of life for that. I don’t know about you,but God totally messes up the plans I make most of the time (which isn’t a bad thing). Letting Him lead my life is not easy. I tend to want to take control. But letting Him lead is much better than myself trying to lead. He knows best and His ways are perfect.
The flip side of doing God’s will even though it is not easy,is the peace of God is there. When we do what God is leading us to do by His Spirit, God’s peace will wash over us. It will carry us through the hard times. There is no way around having God’s peace in our lives when we do His will. It is the most reassuring thing on our journey of life. His peace comes and it makes the hard possible. It really is amazing.
Though, right now I am going through a time of joy,yet struggle, God’s peace is in my life. If it not for His peace I could not be making the transition I am making. His peace literally passes my little mind up and I cannot understand how I can have peace when I am struggling. God is a good God. He is a kind God. He will reassure us of that in the midst of our hardships.
So let His peace rule in your life. Be obedient even if it is hard and not easy. His peace will sweep over your life and you will know you are doing what He wants from you.
Lord, thank You for Your peace. It is a treasure that this world cannot offer to us. It is such a gift. We are so grateful for it and that You give it to those who are obedient to You. May we do what You ask though it is hard or though it means we will struggle at times. You never said we would go without struggle,but You said you would be our strength and our peace. You are the Prince of Peace. May your peace wash over us and sustain us Father. In Jesus Name, Amen.

So true, Heather. It is hard for me sometimes to see the good when I struggle with things of this world. But then again, there are things for this world. God has brought me this far, and I need to trust Him for the rest of the way.
