Hidden Treasures
(pic mine, metal detecting with family)
Don’t you wish the answer’s to your problems were readily available for you today? Why does it seem like we ask, search high and low, and still come up with no clarity?
Waiting can make a weary heart lose hope.
Sometimes we need to dig deeper for God’s hidden treasures. Just like the time my family and I went out on a metal detecting trip, we scoured the ground and listened for the detector’s beep. When we heard beeping, we stopped and dug up what was just below our feet.
A hidden treasure, just below the surface.
God’s Word is similar. Sometimes we can be so close to sometime beautiful but we miss it because we aren’t willing to dig up that ground. We walk right pass it. Sight unseen.
I remember a time when I couldn’t sleep. Insomnia affected my outlook. I felt tears near the surface throughout the day. I just wanted rest. After days of restless sleep, I brought my Bible to bed with me. I prayed, “God, I’m so tired. So weak. I need hope.”
That particular night I opened my Bible to the Psalms. This verse bounced off the page and comforted my heart.
I lie down and sleep;
I wake again, because the LORD sustains me.
I will not fear though tens of thousands
assail me on every side. Psalm 3:5-6 (NIV)
I cried.
I found a hidden treasure.
God spoke straight to my heart.
I believe He wants to do the same for you. Stop and dig a little deeper. You will find treasure.
Father God, I believe there is someone who needs a hidden treasure today just to get through. Please Lord, draw the hopeless to Your Word. Invite them to dig deeper. Sometimes the greatest finds are just below the surface. Please speak hope to this weary heart. In Jesus’ name, Amen
indeed, if you call out for insight
and cry aloud for understanding,
4 and if you look for it as for silver
and search for it as for hidden treasure,
5 then you will understand the fear of the LORD
and find the knowledge of God. Proverbs 2:3-5 (NIV)

Thank you sis for allowing Him to shine through you. I love you.
It is so true Tiffany: sometimes we don’t see the treasures in His Word because we are too distressed. It has happened that I have read a Scripture passage so often, but one day that Scripture passage brings a different meaning.
Thank you for sharing from your heart.
One thing about treasure is we have to seek it out. The Word of God says if we seek Him, we will find Him. I love that there are things hidden for us to find.
Thank God He sees beauty in the things that we cannot see. It is my prayer that I could look thru His eyes, my world would be full of treasure if I did!
