His Ways Are Higher
In the book of Isaiah, It says that our ways are not the same as God’s ways:
(Isaiah 55:8-9) “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts.”
I love reading this passage in Scripture over and over as I consider how much higher and greater God’s thoughts, plans and purposes are than mine. Even on one of my best days, I cannot even fathom the thoughts and desires that God has for me. Every thought that God has for me far succeeds any thing that I could ever imagine or hope for.
Can you even wrap your mind around how big our God is?
We often say we understand how big He is, but truth be told, life sometimes does not feel like God is in control at all. When life begins to crash out of control, we may ask, “Where is God in all of this?” When this happens, we must recall the words in Isaiah and remember that how we see things is not how God sees it. His ways are not our ways and His thoughts are not our thoughts, in fact, His plan is perfect! While we may not see how things will unfold or work out, God already sees the entire picture – not just a small glimpse.
Currently, I am looking at a situation in my own life that seems unsure. I am so grateful for this reminder today that even though I cannot see how things will work out, God already has a great plan. My ideas of how things may go is way too limited, God has already orchestrated a divine plan that far exceeds anything I can ever imagine. His ways are greater than mine and since He is in control and sees something greater for me than I see; I will just trust His plan.
How about you – are you looking at your situation with limited vision or are you trusting God’s BIGGER, better and HIGHER plan?

Thank you for the reminder that we do not see the entire picture, only God does. May I trust Him every minute of my life.
