I AM NOT ASHAMED OF THE GOSPEL OF CHRIST
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ; for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.” Romans 1:16 KJV
Paul was about to embark on a trip to Rome when he penned the scripture above. Rome was the most powerful city in the world at that time, but; was also a cesspool of crime and hate.
Paul realized that the Romans’ would probably laugh at him when he preached his message of Jesus Christ as being the Son of God and who had given His life for all mankind on the cruel cross in the Roman ruled city of Jerusalem.
He also knew that Rome thought of Jerusalem as a small insufficient city hardly worth the time of day.
Paul knew that if a message was sent down from Caesar, it would be immediately obeyed. But the message that he was going to preach was about Jesus Christ and was given to Paul directly from God Almighty. In Romans 1:1 Paul called his message “The Gospel of God.” How could Paul be ashamed of such a message that came from God and centered on His Son Jesus Christ?
The power of the message of Jesus Christ is not an exclusive message for any race or nation of people, because all men need to be saved.
God does not want men and women to “clean up” their life He wants them to BELIEVE, in Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and the Holy Spirit will help us to live our lives by omitting the ungodly things we do now; He will help us to add all the Godly things to our lives that will truly make us happy and joyful as we daily live our lives as God would have us to be. “That for God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16 KJV
So let us all be like the Apostle Paul and everywhere we go let us NOT BE ASHAMED OF THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST, FOR IT IS SALVATION AND ETERNAL LIFE TO EVERYONE THAT BELIEVES.
