Jesus is the Way
It can get to be routine year after year the remembrance and celebration of the events that are the foundation of our faith. The birth, death and resurrection of the son of God. We can become guilty of going through the motions, reading the stories in the Bible, and participating in other activities that have become a tradition in our different denominations but not allowing the sacredness of these significant events to touch our hearts any more.
I admit that I am guilty of the very thing I am writing about. There are times when I go through the motions, do what is expected of me as a believer but don’t really allow that feeling of awe of all that God has done and the sacrifice that was made on my behalf to sink in.
So today I sat, I read the story of the events of the very first Holy Week. I read it as if it was the first time. I thought about the fact that a long time ago, before I was present here on planet earth, God made a way for me. He knew I would be lost and in need of a savior. For that reason, He sent His only son to die for my sins and become the way to Him.
16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16 (NKJV)
So, this Holy Week as I think about His sacrifice I want to say again, thank you Lord for making a way for me to come to you.
6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. John 14:6 (NKJV)
I love this song, it makes me feel like celebrating. Jesus, you are the way!

- Black Friday/Good Friday
You are right; we often go sometimes through the motions. One thing I always do is attend the sunrise service at our church. Yes, it is early (6am), but the favorite service all year. Being out in open makes this service truly special on Easter Sunday.
Love the song you have shared.
Happy Easter and Resurrection Sunday.
