Don’t Lose Your Peace
Peace… it does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble or hard work. It means to be in the midst of those things and still be calm in your heart. (Unknown)
It had just been an hour or so earlier when I’d texted a friend that I was having a good day. A short encounter with someone shortly afterwards started to get me frustrated. A little later and another conversation with another person and I got even more frustrated. Before I knew it, my sense of peace began to dissipate. I started to feel annoyed and actually called my sister to vent about a day that had for the most part gone quite well.
When I thought about it later, I wondered, “What happened? How did my day fall apart?”
It’s easy to allow your peace to be stolen if you’re not careful to guard it. The enemy strategizes and strategically plans his attacks for maximum effect. He wants you to lose heart, to be discouraged, to see only the negative never the positive.
During the Christmas season it is especially easy to lose your sense of peace, to become discontented with your circumstances. However the Bible tells us that the enemy comes only to kill, steal and destroy. Let’s not allow him to steal our sense of peace and wellbeing. According to Colossian 3:15; we are to, Let the peace of Christ rule in our hearts. Let’s remember that when we begin to lose the calm in our hearts during this Christmas season.
As we let the peace of Christ rule in our hearts this Christmas season let’s meditate on the words spoken by Christ in John14:27
I am leaving you with a gift–peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.

Dear Bernadine,
Satan just loves to test our re-acter, especially when we are having a good day, especially if we verbalize that we are having a peaceful day, then he will begin to irritate us, but we always need to remember know that we can make him get behind us. We just open the door of our home or let down our car window or what ever and tell him to take a hike to someone who cares. peace is a gift of the Holy Spirit. Do I catch him in his sneaky peace stealing ways on the dot, no, sometimes I let him really get me into a snit, before I realize IN THE NAME OF JESUS HE HAS NO POWER OVER MY PEACE UNLESS I LET HIM. I am trying to get better and better at being aware of his sneaky ways. Blessings Gloria
You are right; sometimes we let the stress of the day get to us. I hope that I will keep my eyes focused on Christ, who is my peace.
Those peace zappers can slip in so fast. But truly Christ thought every thing we would need in this world.
