Never Give Up
“This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:8-9 ESV)
If you have been following my feed on Facebook, you have noticed that I took a journey on macro photography.
Macro photography has been something I always wanted to do, however I almost gave up on learning it. I had the lens for over two years, and was ready to get rid of it. In March I took an online workshop and I have had a blast with it.
Yes, macro photography is very challenging to say the least. Not only have I learned macro photography, but something much more important: to never give up on anything.
Sometimes we get discouraged by things that others can do. Trust me when I tell you that nothing is impossible to do or learn.
I love the book of Joshua; it is actually one of the books in the Old Testament that I have read more than once. Joshua trusted God with everything he did or any challenge that he faced.
I remember when I wanted to start a devotional blog almost 10 years ago. I was afraid that no one would be interested in reading it. However, I really wanted to encourage others to stay close to God and His Word.
So, in October of 2006 I started Laced with Grace. At that point I only had 6 writers that were interested in joining me to share about His love, grace and mercy. There were many times I wanted to throw in the towel and give up. But I didn’t.
We have had many women come through this site as contributors, and many have moved on with their own ministries. However, with the help of God there have always been women that are willing to share their faith with other; I am so thankful for that.
Yes, sometimes it is scary to start a new thing or to challenge oneself, but often times it is so worth it to put yourself out there.

Lord of mercy and grace. Thank You for always being with me, wherever I go. You have told me to be strong and courageous. Even if it is scary to step out of my comfort zone, I know that You give me the strength to move forward. In the precious name of Jesus. Amen.
