No Religion Needed
“Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am. And you know the way to where I am going…Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.” John 14:1-4, 6 (NLT)
One of my family members in Germany shared (not written by him) the below after the attacks in Paris;
“Friends from the whole world, thank you for #PrayforParis, but we don’t need more religion! Our faith goes to music! Kisses! Life! Champagne and joy! #ParisisaboutLife!”
I do agree that no more religion is needed. Religion is a man-made thing (in my opinion), and it can turn out very bad. Paris is a prime example for that. People think that they can force their ideology on others.
However, I do think that the world needs Jesus! There, I said it, Jesus is what the world needs. No religion needed, but faith, love, and grace. We as followers of the Way, the Truth and, the Life need to show the world what faith truly means. Only Jesus can heal the broken hearts. In John 16:33 (NLT) Jesus says this:
“I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”
We will have trials and sorrows along the journey, but Jesus is the lifter of our heads. We need to let the true light shine and don’t answer with violence, but love. I know that it might not come easy and we want to retaliate. Let us embrace the world with the love of Jesus. Jesus died for all, but not everyone has the faith to believe. May we humble ourselves before God and pray for the ones that are practicing religion.
“Finally, all of you should be of one mind. Sympathize with each other. Love each other as brothers and sisters.Be tenderhearted, and keep a humble attitude. Don’t repay evil for evil. Don’t retaliate with insults when people insult you. Instead, pay them back with a blessing. That is what God has called you to do, and he will grant you his blessing.” 1 Peter 3:8-9 (NLT)
Lord of mercy and grace. Violence and religion is not needed. You said that there will be trials and sorrow in this world. Help us to hold fast to You. Strengthen our faith in You, You alone. We are trusting in Your mercy. In Jesus’ precious name. Amen
