SEARCH MY HEART, OH GOD
“Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” PSALM 139:23,24 NIV
Oh God let my spirit always be in the place that I will allow you to search my heart at any time so that you can and will keep out all UnGodly thoughts from taking a hold in my life and making my spirit become out of step with what your Holy Spirit wishes for me.
As a human being many thoughts come into my mind and some really even seem exciting and to be a good thing to do for the Kingdom of God.
I have found after going ahead instead of praying out the “Will of God”, before acting on some things, that I ended up so ashamed and humbled because I did not get the Okay from the Holy Spirit before I acted and the “good” thought backfired in my face. Nobody wants “Holy Ghost egg on their face”.
When we do not get the full will of God on a matter that seemed to be so good for God, we are making our thoughts and actions our own gods instead of making ourselves obedient to the perfect Will of God Almighty.
Almighty God is our priority and nothing we can think or do will ever take His place. We cannot try to “oneup” God with a good idea.
All thoughts and actions on our parts have to be the perfect Will of God.
How do we get the perfect Will of God? By prayer, and studying His Word to us which is the Holy Bible.
If God gives us an idea of something to do for HIS Kingdom, He wants us to be sure that it was His Spirit and not a spirit of the world that gave us the idea, when we ask, pray and study His Word we can be certain.
