Stepping Out in Faith
Life is strange sometimes. Just as you get to a place where life is going along seemingly well and you are happy inhabiting your comfort zone, you suddenly start longing for more. You want something to change. Maybe you have a “dream job” in mind that you would like to go after. Maybe it’s moving someplace new or a million other scenarios. However with each one of them, risk is involved.
The big question is do I want to risk what I have now for something that may or may not pan out? Do I have enough faith to believe that it will work out?
I was talking to a friend lately about this very thing, stepping out in faith and following your dreams. Both of us have ideas as to what we want to do. However when we talked in the past it was usually in terms of, I hope to be able to do this someday instead of I’m going to do this. This time as we talked both of us encouraged each other to make concrete plans. To stop watching from the sidelines and start stepping out in faith believing that God can make dreams come true.
We decided that we would write down our dreams/visions for the future and develop written plans on how to achieve them. We made a commitment to check each other to ensure that we stay on track. I think both of us came to the realization that it’s easy to sit and dream and make plans year after year. However, you have to realize at some point that it’s time to step out in faith and work towards achieving your goals.
God is the giver of dreams. He wants his plans for us to be manifested in our lives. However, he cannot do it without some action on our part.
17 Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.
18 But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. James 2:17-1
Lord, help us to be willing to step out of our comfort zones and pursue the dreams and visions that you have placed in our heart. Help us to remember that faith without works is dead and that in order to see our dreams manifested in our lives we have to put action to our faith.

I am so happy for you that you are actually going for your dream, my sweet friend.
Thank you, my dear friend. You were one of my very first blogging friends and you’ve always been such an encouragement and inspiration to me.
