Take Heart “I Am With You”
But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, “Take heart; it is I. Do not be afraid.”
And Peter answered him, “Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the water.” He said, “Come.” So Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water and came to Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid, and beginning to sink he cried out, “Lord, save me.” Jesus immediately reached out his hand and took hold of him, saying to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?” And when they got into the boat, the wind ceased. And those in the boat worshiped him, saying, “Truly you are the Son of God.” (Matthew 14:27-33 ESV)
My beloved husband’s health has not been the best over the last couple of years. A couple of weeks ago, he had to have a biopsy done on his kidneys. Thankfully I was able to go with him to this outpatient procedure. I may have been more nervous than my husband was…
I have always loved the story of Peter walking on water; for one reason I see myself in this story. I say that I trust Jesus, but when a storm hits, I experience doubt. I am not sure why that is. I guess, I still like to be in control of things. However there are things that I can’t control, like the storms in life. The only one thing I can do: reach out, take the hand of Jesus and trust Him to carry me through the storm.
My dear friends, sometimes life can be very discouraging, and we are afraid of what may be around the next corner. Let me encourage you to reach out to Jesus, take His hand and trust Him.
As for my husband’s test results, they were better than what we were expecting. Thank you, Jesus.
Lord of Heaven and Earth. I sometimes experience doubt that You will carry me through the storms in life. Help me to trust You without a inkle of doubt, and help me to follow You fiercehearted. In the precious name of Jesus. Amen.
- Forgive Yourself
- Sacred Moments
Amen to that prayer.
I’m so happy that your husband’s test results were better than expected.
