The Lord Delights in You!
Think about the last thing that you truly delighted in – a time when you were over-the-top thrilled about a person or an event or a circumstance. It might have been several years ago, or very recently. I remember when my son told me he proposed to his then-girlfriend. My joy expressed itself in a mixture of tears and laughter – for about 20 minutes! I was truly delighted. I am delighted when I accomplish something I wasn’t sure I could – a promotion at work, a grant from the National Endowment of the Humanities. We delight in people and situations that bring us great joy.
How amazing to be reminded that God delights in us. He delights in us not because of some great accomplishment or something we have done. He delights in us because we belong to Him. We are His. How amazing is that?! We can rest in Him and know that he takes delight in us.
Stop for a few minutes and meditate on the verse below:
I guess that is why I love to do photography in my spare time. I delight when I nail a composition or the focus.
The verse in Zephaniah is powerful, and I think about it quiet often.
