‘Til the Storm Passes By

5 I know the greatness of the Lord—
that our Lord is greater than any other god.
6 The Lord does whatever pleases him
      throughout all heaven and earth,
and on the seas and in their depths.
7 He causes the clouds to rise over the whole earth.
He sends the lightning with the rain
and releases the wind from his storehouses.
Psalms 135:5-7

I thought about the above verses today as I listened to the sound of the wind outside my door.  Also, as I peek outside my window I see the darkened skies and the trees swaying in the wind; all signs of the approaching storm.

It’s never easy waiting for a storm, you wait in hope that it either turns back, misses you completely or if you have to go through it that it leaves you unscathed. I know this waiting. I’ve been here before literally experiencing nature at its worst and experiencing storms in life.  However there has always been one constant in every storm I’ve ever gone through, the belief that my Savior would keep me safe until the storm passes by.

So as I look around today and see all the signs that shows that a storm is imminent I remind my self that  “He sends the lightning with the rain and releases the wind from His storehouses.”  He is in control.

Note

I was almost dressed for work today (Tuesday) when the announcement came over the radio that schools were closed due to the threat of tropical storm Noel.  Since the electricity has already been a little unstable I thought I’d get this in the line up early.
