When God Calls My Name
The morning sun gently rises from behind the shadow of Mount LeConte each morning casting its golden orange rays across the ridge tops of the neighboring summits. It peeks through the curtains, and I’m awakened by it’s warm kiss upon my face. My heart quietly speaks, “Thank You, Lord, for blessing me with another day to live for You.”
As the day passes into evening, and the skies glow changes to velvet tones and shadows, I find myself enveloped in peace.
Each day holds within it a storehouse of minutes and seconds, sunshine and rain; clouds and clear skies; rejoicing and tears; thankfulness and questions. The type of day that runs the gambit of emotions and weather.
Just as the cradled clouds held in the bosom of the mountain valleys will rise from their slumber after rain, so will the shadows of this life known as sorrow and pain.
They will rise.
They will be no more.
Velvet tones and shadows will be shed like the grave clothes of the redeemed when He calls my name.
And I will rise swifter than the wings of eagles and find myself in a light brighter than the kiss upon my face each morning. It will be the light of His presence.
Safe.
Free.
Home.
- WHAT AM I MOST THANKFUL FOR?
- But What Can I Do?
